Going Beyond
One day soon my friend, you’ll die,
One day, I will too.
Will you be the one to weep on my grave
Or will I weep, my friend, for you?
No, I won’t cry upon that day,
I’ll smile and so should you.
For this I know, that we will go
Where I’ve been and you have too.
Back to the Light from which we sprang,
To the One where we belong.
But will we go a step further this time,
To the Light and then Beyond?
…and Beyond the light
If this life is but a journey,
Where do we travel to?
Is Heaven at the end of time?
Does it end, are the stories true?
Or is it true that journey’s end
Lies right here at the start?
Lies in this self, this soul, this mind,
This spirit light, this heart?
Now this I know from sitting here
My journey’s end’s in sight.
I return to myself and thence to God,
I go back to the light.
And when that’s done and I am one
With the light, need I travel on?
Yes and no and there I’ll go
To the Light and then Beyond!
And when I pass beyond the Light
What would you think I’d see?
Another world of Gods or men?
No ‘tis I – I’d be waiting for me.
